As has been reported to us by the RCMP, witnesses and the owners of Kalum the driver of the taxi picked up two passengers, a man and a woman, at a residence on King Avenue in Thornhill and was crossing the Highway travelling west to the lower subdivision area of Krumm Road. The RCMP reported receiving the call at 8:55 am. The Terrace Fire Department responded to the scene and worked with the ambulance service to extricate the driver and the passengers from the vehicle. Although unconfirmed it has been reported to us that the woman has died from the injuries suffered in this tragic accident.

The cab driver most likely approached this intersection looking left first then right, and didn look left again before pulling out. Simple mistake that many do at almost every intersection. But this particular intersection is very dangerous. The first person to witness this awful accident was Murray Hamer who was stopped at the intersection of Churchill Hwy 37.
He quickly asked the driver of the semi if he was ok then decended into the ditch where the taxi was leaning against the power pole.
