“CAA OF MONGOLIA HAS RECENTLY COMMISSIONED TWO INDRA MONOPULSE SECONDARY SURVEILLANCE MODE S RADARS AND WILL OPERATE INDRA ADS-B SYSTEMS TO ENHANCE AIR TRAFFIC SAFETY”
Mongolia aims to move forward to the modernization of civil aviation industry undertaking several important projects. In that direction, CAA of Mongolia entrusted the modernization of its surveillance network to Indra. Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia has recently commissioned two additional Indra Monopulse Secondary Surveillance mode S Radars to enhance the safety of air traffic operation in the country joining the three units already in service also supplied and commissioned by Indra.
With these two new radars in operation CAA of Mongolia achieves to have 95% radar coverage of the total en route flight of Mongolia and 75% of its upper airspace. Furthermore, in order to extend the coverage of the surveillance system and to improve the safety with backing up existing system, the CAA of Mongolia is installing, as well, Indra ADS-B systems along with the radar implementations. The ADS-B system has been entirely developed and manufactured by Indra complying with the most exigent and recognized standards and brings the benefits of the Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast with the best costperformance ratio in the market.
Indra is proud to be part of the MCAA’s ambitious strategy of modernizing Mongolian ATM infrastructures with the state-of the art-technology. In addition to the surveillance project already mentioned above, Indra already supplied and commissioned the Automation Air Traffic Control system at UlaanBaatar ACC. These projects reinforce Indra’s position as the ATM supplier of CAA of Mongolia, as well as its position in the Asia region where Indra has recently been awarded important projects in countries such as China, South Korea or Indonesia, among others.
